Worst case scenario add spacers to the rear

Hey guys,

I got the OME 881's going in on Monday with the Bilstein 5100 (24-248730) up front and I just wanted to know which setting (snap ring location #) is it supposed to be set on if I want 2" or less?

Am I correct to think it's #3 on the pic?

Imgur: The magic of the Internet

I have OME 906 installed in the rear which gives me ~2" (I don't want to go more than that) and I just want it level all around, or at least the front pretty close to 2" as well.

Since the 881 gives you ~ 2 to 2.5" above stock I think your going to want to have it on the lowest snap ring setting.

Hopefully you don't get reverse rake with the front being to high. Most people seem to pair the 880 up front with the 906 in the rear. That's assuming you have a stock front end ie. no after market bumper winch etc.

Currently thinking going the ome 881/906 route with 5100 4runner specific

I have questions about this set up and keep finding dead threads on here.
wanting to go the route with the 881/906 and 4runner 5100s, i have a coastal offroad plate bumper 80#s and a 9000warn winch up front and a single mtx 12" sub in the rear which probably weighs around 50 odd#s and a bit of recovery gear.

2000 sr5 i do a bit of rugged offroading nothing beyond where i cannot get home that night
wondering if this is a good set up to go with and what else is potentially needed such as diff drop or pan hard correction, new bump stops, and so on.

in the end I'd really just want some good clarification on the set up

Im still trying to figure this all out too. Have a ARB bumper and winch, not yet installed, and run 265/75/16's. Dont want to go over 2 inches in lift, yet still support the extra weight. Been looking at the dobinson spring/shock kit as well as the OME.
My last lift I really liked, but I dont need that height.( 3 inch) and all the extras that go with that, like diff drops, sway bar relocate brackets, panhard relocate brackets, extended brake hoses etc.

I will follow along and see what people recomend to you

Just my two cents

I'm about to do 4Runner Bilstein 5100s all around, OME 880/906, Panhard correction kit, DuroBumps 5.25" bump stops.

I have stock bumpers and no winch. I usually keep a mountain bike hanging off the hitch and keep maybe 50lbs of tools/gear in the back.

I run 265/75/r16s.

If I had bumpers and a winch, I'd probably do 881/890 or even 883/890 and a diff drop and extended lines.

If most of your weight is up front, 881/906 might work out pretty well? Seems to be several threads with people liking this combo.

Oh, and I'll leave this here: why Body Lift? – eimkeith.com

"so basically, a 2” suspension lift and a 1” ... body lift nets more suspension travel and lower COG than that of a 3” suspension lift, with the break-over clearance of a `4” suspension lift."

Word of caution on the body lifts: Can be an issue if you already have your aftermarket bumpers and they're not designed for a body lift, and you lose easy use of your stock spare location (the hole for the winch crank access becomes misaligned).
