Three Headlight Wires - Which is Hi-Beam?
On the plug at the back of the headlight, there are three wires. Which is for the high beams?
Thanks!

I believe there is a red wire with some color tracer. With out knowing what you have ( year / model/ etc ) it is very hard to give you any reliable advice. Please list your vehicle when posting or better yet add it to your signature.

imageGoogle "9003 wiring diagram":
This is if you have DRLs. Without DRL, Ground- becomes 12V+ and the high and low are negative. If you are tapping the high beam wire for a relay coil, make sure you take that into account.

Well there is no ONE hi beam wire. There is power from the head light relay on terminal 3 of the connector. It should be labeled if you look close. Terminal 2 is grounded to activate hi beam, terminal 1 is grounded to activate low beam.
Colors vary by year, but for the 02 the power is red with blue or red with black based on which side you are looking at. Hi beam ground is red with yellow, low beam ground is blue with black.

I did assume it was NOT DRL's, since it was not specified!
And you have an amazing ability to post almost simultaneous to mine!

Well, to be picky, you gave the 2002 colors, and all 2002 WERE DRLs. So what you described pretty much did not exist in North America--even though the '02 EWD manual does show the non-DRL circuit as well as the DRL.
I have a tap on your computer. I know when you are going to post. Plus I'm three hours ahead of you. You just can't keep up.

True but everything I've checked on the 2000 has been the same as the 02. And it's all I got, so I just run what I brung.

Sorry - violated the first rule!
It is a 2001 with DRLs. I am tapping into to connect driving lights with hi-beams.
Thanks

So Highs are Red-Blue on left and Red-White on right, and my diagram applies as posted. The other side of the relay coil from the high beam tap should go to the switch and the other side of the switch should go to ground. (The order of that can be changed, but that's the circuit.)
