3rd Gen OEM Front Bumper Weight
Its 20.5lbs! I have been searching for a actual measured number and can not find it. The actual weight seems to be important for everyone doing any suspension/lift/bumper changes. I weighed my 1996 front bumper today. Bumper, Bumper Brackets, Plastic Splash Apron, License Plate Bracket and Plate, turn signals was 20.5lbs on my digital scale. Will post the pic in the next couple of days.
Yes this is a fish scale, but I have verified it with certified scales. Its within ounces.

Thanks for the data point.
I'm all for cool heavy duty bumpers, but all that extra weight adds up and just makes it harder for the rig to perform on or off road. The rear bumper is not as big a penalty if you include the receiver hitch in the net weight.

Hopefully someone weighs it on a scale for a true weight. Then post it up exactly what the weight was and what parts were included. Everyone really wants to help, but "It probably weighs" is not an accurate measurement.

Pretty much any suspension can handle a bumper upgrade. Like you found out the bumpers are pretty light even aftermarket bumpers. Minus the stock bumper you adding maybe 40-60lbs.
When it becomes an issue is when you install your winch. So you need to know the winch weights. You can save a good 50lbs going synthetic line.

What all was included in this weight? Could you edit it up with all the details. This is what we need 35lb is substantially different than a lot of "Estimates" I have found.

I would agree there are lots of variables, and why I like exact numbers. A Schrock Works with hoops and a receiver is "close to 120lb" according to them. They advertise 107lb for their standard bumper. So for a 96 your looking at 100lbs (Bumper Only) at the extreme end of the vehicle, and that is a noticeable difference.
Thanks for the input and please continue sharing.

The entire bumper and the cross member that is part of the mount. All connected together. Weighed myself and then weighed myself holding the bumper. 35lbs difference.
