VSC causing trouble

So I've had an ongoing issue with my VSC: when it's working, I hit the gas and tend to get some weird kind of lag - no power to the wheels no matter how far down the gas pedal goes.

Most of the time the Check Engine light, VSC TRAC and VSC OFF lights are on, and the above issue doesn't manifest. So obviously it's something to do with that, but I can't find a code or source of the problem. Any ideas?

The traction control on these are horrible offroad. Good on ice but in mud or deep snow the truck will lose all power til you pretty much stop. It's hitting the brakes trying to get traction and robs all power.

Disable that crap.

Under what circumstances did you experience actual dethrottling? The VSC should be the only system that can cut engine power, and the VSC should be disabled with the cenfer diff locked.

Sorry for the delayed response. Working 13 hour shifts and all I do in between is sleep.

It happens under normal driving conditions, dry road, from a dead stop or sometimes if I'm trying to accelerate on the highway (if this happens I go from 60 to 40 before I can fix it - people behind me love this).

This is not at all the correct situation for VSC to activate. It is caused when one wheel is not rotating at the same speed as the others such as when going around a bend on loose soil at speed and the rear end begins to slide out, then it kicks it. Ask me how I know. There is something wrong here, like maybe a speed sensor on one or more of the wheels. I'd check the ohm specs on those. Luck.

No beeping like you normally get with VSC, a completely silent dead zone. I'm wondering if it's a wheel speed sensor?

Yeah I think a wheel speed sensor may be the culprit. But the thing is it ONLY happens when my VSC OFF light is NOT on, meaning when VSC is active. I think we can test the wheel speed with a scan tool my friend has. God, I just want to figure this out.
