5th gen rear springs purple pink on a 3rd gen

I have a friend that took the entire suspension off his 2015 4Runner and installed a icon suspension. He gave me the entire suspension with less than 5k miles on it. Will this fit on my 97 4runmer? I've looked but haven't seen anything about these springs on a 3rd gen. Thanks

Because the shocks, springs, and struts ore blown on a 4Runner that my daughter has. If I have something that will work why would I want to buy other parts?

I've heard the springs will work and possibly the rear shocks.

Measure your springs/shocks...you will have your answer....vehicles weigh very similar....and they are still basically the same for suspension.

If you ask..Toyota...well we all know that answer. Make sure you post up if you try it and how it worked out.

I've heard differing opinions on all this, but have not seen definitive input for 4th and 5th gen springs on 3rd gens.

I know that 07-09 FJ Cruiser Springs will fit on both a 3rd and 4th gen, but I've read that 4th gen springs will not fit on a 3rd gen. Makes no sense.

I read somewhere that the latest model (2014?) FJ Cruiser springs will fit 4th and 5th gen (which in my opinion means they should theoretically fit the 3rd gen, as the 07-09 springs fit both the 3rd and 4th gen. Theoretically on top of this, this means that the 5th gen should fit the 3rd gen

I don't think the front shocks ever worked (maybe the rear shocks)but the springs are a possibility.

4th and 5th gen springs on a 3rd gen would be a good thing IMO because they are designed for vehicles that weigh up to 900lbs more stock than our 3rd gens do. So you should gain a slight lift if not more, and even if not, they won't be sagging
anytime soon.

I'd say try it out, especially since you have the parts free. I wouldn't pay money to test this, but a few hours of your time will give you your answer. At least see if the springs will work. I bet a lot of people would start to get 5th gen springs if you could confirm this. Especially in the future as there are more and more 5th gens in junkyards. People could get used stockish height 'firm' springs without the relatively high price of OME.
I was looking for a trashed 07-09 FJ Cruiser, but eventually said screw it and got some cheap Moog springs.

As long as the ID and 'tail' on either end of the spring match close enough , they should work pretty good. I know the 07-09 FJ Cruiser springs are considerably larger but work well still.

Yes, the front and rear springs of the 4th & 5th gen 4Runners, and those of the FJC, will fit the 3rd gen 4Runner.

The Dobinsons Coil springs for the LC95 Prado (same platform as the 3rd gen 4Runner) are used for the lighter versions of the LC120 Prado (same platform as the 4th/5th gen 4Runner and the FJC).

But it will be on a trial and error basis at this time due to unavailable documentation.

Diggo, if you ever tried this out I'd love to hear if it worked or not. My friend has some TRDP suspension parts he'd give me if they'll fit. I may tear into it soon and do some measuring

I think the TRDP front springs are different from the other 5th gen 4Runner springs because the front bilstein shocks are bigger than those used in the other models. It is my understanding that the front shocks are similar to the Bilstein 6112 and are of the same diameter.

What I would like to know though, is whether the TRDP front springs will fit the Bilstein 6112 shocks. If it does, then that it can be used for the 3rd gen 4Runner Bilstein 6112 and giving more lift than the bilstein 6112 coils springs.

Any confirmation on this? Ive got the opportunity to acquire a set of rear springs from 2016 TRD Pro. Wondering if they would be compatible for my 2002 SR5. How much lift would they give?

First time post. Been reading and following the forums since August!

Stay tuned...Have rear TRDP springs in my garage and once I collect a Front spring option + Bilsteins I'll report the findings.

Will try to remember to measure to keep the masses happy too

My deal fell through, but I'll still be interested to hear about the outcome.

What are you planning on pairing the rear springs with?

I scored some 5th gen springs today that had 500 miles on them. Going to install them when I do my brakes in a couple weeks.
