Alternative to factory roof rack hardware
I've been searching, but can't seem to find info on alternatives to the hardware, nuts specifically, that slides into the factory roof rack side rails. Any ideas? Anything that can been picked up at home depot, ace, or Lowe's? Is there a "standard" size nut that doors the bill?

Something that could be used to bolt a hi-lift jack, shovel, aftermarket roof rack, or other useful item to the factory side rails...

I think that Defender roof rack mounting brackets are the commonly recommended rack mounts:
