Did I just ruin my CV axle?

So I'm in the process of installing UCA's.

I banged out my ball joint and was going to secure my spindle with a bungee after the ball joint came loose. Well, as it came loose, the spindle popped out very quickly toward me and now I cannot push it back in towards its home. It feels as if my axle is what's holding it from going there. I tried to jack the LCA up to attempt to realign the axle and push it back in but the truck started lifting off the jack stand before that could happen.

Is it ruined?
Do I need to go buy CV axles now?

Did your inner boot get pulled off or stretched out?

Na it's fine just keep rotating the cv and pushing it in. The tulips just aren't lined up with their home. Happens all the time. As long as the boot isn't ripped it's good to go.

Like @4x4runner2002 said, the joint just popped out. We are assuming though it's the inner joint because that's the one that slides and can pop out. That inner joint is a tripod joint with three rollers that fit inside the housing. The rollers most likely pulled out and they are no longer aligned with the housing they slide in and out of. Grab the inner housing with one hand while rotating the shaft and pushing in towards the differential with the other hand. Once the rollers line up, it will slide back in place and you will be good to go.

Success!

I'm ashamed I didn't think to try that before making a post about it.

Anyhow, one side is complete. I just need to go grab a couple of very large sockets I overlooked needing, to tighten my new [SPC] ball joint into place.

Thanks again guys.
