So, Manual Transmission= it pops out of first gear when I take off-super loud bang. It doesn't do it every time, just every once and a while. Any feedback would be great. It has 217 K on the engine. I do know that the T-fluids need changing as I had my mechanic look at it recently.
^^^^^ what they said. There's a bushing under the shifter that wears out I believe. Should be super easy to get to from the inside of the truck. Remove console, boots and then shift levers. Send pics and ask questions if you need help.
Head to Toyota maybe to get an exploded diagram and OEM parts.
Good luck.

If your seat and socket are done, these have worked well for me...also added a short throw shifter at the same time. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Mine was popping out of third and I changed out the seat and socket for the marlin crawler set. So far it feels much better and may have popped out once since then but I'm not sure if I was just cruising in neutral anyway. Mine still grinds in 2nd once it gets warmed up, redline mt-90 is on the way.
Hey how'd the short throw work out for you? I've been debating on the $300 idea for a bit and was curious about real world observations.
Appreciate it
Shifter upgrade was a nice touch, definitely appreciated it after it went in and now I can't remember what it was like before. I went with URD's kit...worked fine and less $$$.
