Angry Creaking sound from rear suspension

My 4runner has developed this creaking sound recently coming from the PASSENGER rear suspension area. The creaking sound is very similar to when you are on your brakes and slowly letting go on a steep downhill or when wheeling. Kinda hard to describe. The sound isn't that loud, but you can definitely hear it inside and outside.

You can hear the sound only when you are coming to a stop. No sound when cruising or hitting bumps. The rig drives fine and no shakes. I checked rear suspension and haven't found anything. Everything is bolted down correctly. I have LC 8 wraps in the rear with fairly new Monroe shocks, and sway bar removed.

Any ideas?

Do you have isolator on the top of springs? Not creaking on the body is it?

Good bushings on top and bottom of those shocks? Did you tighten the top nut properly on the shocks?

Only when coming to a stop.. seems like it could be a loading issue, checked control arms? U-joint's greased?

Can you get a video? Throwing random thoughts out there, with a fairly foggy idea of what it sounds like.

Does it sound like the video in this thread?

What's that screeching noise when brake on low speed?

Yeah I do (a trim packer), but it's on the driver side and the creaking sound already existed before I put the trim packer.

Yeah, bushings are good and all nuts/bolts tightened on the shocks.

Control arms looked fine and I'm not too sure about the U-joints being greased. How can I tell?

Kinda similar. My sound is coming from the rear tho. Also, it sounds like rubber on rubber twisting/rubbing.

Can you me a favor. And check your drive shaft bolts. Make sure they are tight on the diff side.

Check your LCA and UCA bolts in the rear.

I will try that.

I just had a friend drive and slowly come to stop a few times. The sound is definitely coming from the rear drum area. Do drums make noise when its time to replace the shoe/drum?

If it's from the drum area, I would isolate my search in that area to checking control arms out thoroughly as I suggested, also remove the drum and inspect. You can just spray everything off with brake cleaner and see how the shoes look.

I am incredibly meticulous and just hunted for several days to find a tiny squeak in mine. I found it, so you will find yours too haha.

Ok I forgot to mention that as you are slowing down while depressing brakes, when it gets to <10mph is when the sound comes on. You can definitely tell that it has to do with something spinning and rubbing against something. lol

Check your brakes man. Lol

Spinning and rubbing only occur in lets see.. drums. Nothing else should be spinning and rubbing unless you have major issues elsewhere.
