OK guys - we're less than a week from starting to ship these out; you can go ahead and pay for your fuel tank mounts here:
jkeithwalters.com/tankmounts
(- or click the link in my signature below.)
I'll calculate shipping for everybody when I have the first set boxed up and weighed, then I'll send out paypal funds requests for the shipping costs and get these things out to you all.

I kinda want to buy one just to have something made by Keith. I should have just waited another year to do the tank swap for this kit.

hahaha!
BTW, I accidentally picked up the front tank mounts when I was picking up a run of PCKs yesterday - they look great, but I think I might've over built them!
I'll grab a couple of photos today. We're just waiting on the crossmembers and the shipping boxes to arrive at this point.

What material thickness did you go with? I’d think 1/8” would be more than enough. I’m guessing you went with your weird metric sizes? Something around 3/16”?

Speaking of overbuilt; I’m reworking my rear bumper design a bit (I need to be able to tow with it)
I was trying to avoid too much weight back there, but I’m a bit conservative on the hitch setup...

I'm pretty sure I'm getting too heavy - what do plate bumpers usually weigh?

ok, looks like 4x innov and coastal are 120# - I'm 113 before hitch, 137 after.
am I overbuilding the hitch? (I'm a cautious tower....)

The stock hitch is rated 500/5000, and you can see how that is built. I would say that the 'same' setup for the hitch components plus all the triangulation of a plate bumper would be VERY safe. So, the hitch crossbar should be the same material/strength as stock, but that will also be used as part of the bumper structure.
Also, you are still only bolting on in the same 4 locations on each side, right? You may be overbuilding the bumper for the frame strength if you go overboard.
There is no need for higher ratings out of a hitch system on a 4Runner - the rest of the chassis isn't really up for it (too light, short, low power, weak brakes, etc.).
What I want to see is a clever swing-out design. I haven't gotten a warm and fuzzy feeling from any of the designs out there. I know most of them 'work' but I still feel there is room for improvement.
