Fixed the link (that was my bad), but PhotoBucket has killed the remaining images in the thread over there. However, I can right click and open them in a new tab and see them still, so there's that...?

So my tank (the replacement, mind you, after the first one was damaged in shipping) came in today:

- sent it back and ordered another one. Third time's the charm?

I need to do this to my 4th gen, tired of beating up my gas tank skid that hangs down super low and I have a huge area under the hatch with the spare gone and my 1.5" BL.
The only problem is my 23 gallon tank is nice...

@eimkeith What the hell?! Where are you ordering this from?

I just talked to my brother finally about getting the tank from his work. $150 with the sending unit and pump. I’m going to wait a little bit to order it since baby #2 will be here probably today and I won’t have time for at least a few weeks. Good to know I can at least get the parts I need easily.

What the hell?! I don't get notifications anymore when people tag me Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design)
Okay, all I meant by "splitting hairs" was just picking apart what you said.

I don't see how you could be "a hair lower when fully loaded with lots of weight", if you don't have any rake unloaded. I mean, I do, but you would have to have super high rate coils. I wouldn't mind being a hair lower when fully loaded with lots of weight either, but that would mean still having over an inch of rake when unloaded(with the Superflex I have). Which is about where I am at.
I know I'm being redundant, but I'd really like to get my hands on a set of 5th gen Superflex to see where they sit on our rigs. They even have a HD version, which might be a good option for the guys that want the load capability of the 861, without the height.
I'm glad @Dirtco came through with his aux tank setup thread, as I hadn't considered cutting out the cargo crossmember. That'll give another inch of clearance for sure. But, that does mean high COG.
There are always trade-offs I suppose.

@Tyler James Inc I guess that makes sense. I usually drive around with a pretty heavy tool box with spare parts, fluids, and also a high lift. So most of my weight is already accounted for during daily driving ride height. Which is still about an 1 to 1.5” higher in the rear with my old 8 wraps. So me fully loaded is an ice chest, couple chairs, and sleeping bags, water and extra clothes. The added extra weight is maybe another couple hundred pounds for a long trip. With the fuel tank moved to the rear, that should settle everything out for me. If I had .5” rake during daily driving I’d be fine.

Also how far along are you on your swap? Anything new besides the other picture you posted earlier?

I think I kind of interpreted "fully loaded with tons of weight" differently than you meant. I was picturing a setup like a picture of @Unner I saw recently, where he had the back cram-packed, 3 bundles of firewood hanging off the spare, etc Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design)
No, no more progress on the swap yet. My buddy built a cage for the tank, and then made mounts to the frame from there. Seems like a great way to do it.
I'm trying not to give too much info on his. Not because I don't want to help, but because you and @eimkeith both have great brains, and I'd like to see what we all come up with.
I think we need a group message/chat on this Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design)Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design)❤️

finally got a few minutes to work on the fuel tank relocation; had to cut off the muffler and snapped off a hitch mount bolt in the frame (rusty truck), but I've made a hole for the new tank:

so a 1" BL is the way to go for tucking the tank (I'm working on a bracket design):

That’s looking good with it being tucked up that high. Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design) I’m a little jealous but then again I also don’t have a body lift (frame drop)...
