Fuel Tank Relocation

Hey, way to steal my thunder! Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design)Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design)

There's been a few guys- that I know of- do the swap, and I think it's amazing. Stock tank is 18.5 gal, F150 aux tank is 19 gal. Eliminate driver lean, room for a non-binding 4-link, flat belly... I could go on Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design)
My buddy just did the tank on his 3rd gen-

Yup; it's under there!
Out of everyone here, I can't believe @AssBurns hasn't done the swap yet.
If you google "F150 tank 3rd gen 4Runner", you'll find a write up from a gentleman on here who used the factory Toyota sender and pump. Way more work than I'm going to do for my swap, that's for sure.

I've wondered about this conversion.

My question is: Does it change the over-all balance of the truck having all that weight behind the rear axle? The stock fuel tank is neatly between (although not centered) the front and rear axles. Any ideas?

It wasn't a joke when they said gas tank relocation to fix driveshaft on tank contact.

4 link rear setups must relocate to get full travel.

Haha @Tyler James Inc it's definitely on my list of things to do. I was thinking of just doing a fuel cell though. Haven't put too much thought into the pros and cons of either one. Maybe I should just replace my busted tank with one of these. Now I'll be spending more time and money, thanks... Thanks for the bump in the idea though

@eimkeith here you go!
Ford F150 Gas Tank Swap into 2000 4Runner

@Tyler James Inc You realize that if you swap tanks you can use OEM parts right? It will ruin the whole theme of your build. Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design) Also, did I really see you say something is way more work that you want to do? Doesn't sound like something you would say.

Doesn't the ford tank hang down quite a bit in the spare tire location without a body lift? That's always been my concern with doing the swap...

Based off of Rockauto. This is the part #FTK010001 and some measurements 34 3/4x27x7 7/8. I may have to trim my bumper a little to fit. I think I only have about 26" between my bumper and crossmember.

From an F100? What are the measurements? Is the filler hole in a good location?

Hey, I try to keep things as simple as possible, without feeling like I'm cheating out. I love OEM parts whenever it's not a bunch more work, but I have not one single qualm about using the Ford sender and pump! Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design)

I only know about the F150 filler, and it's in a perfect spot.

See pic above. It's all relative, but you can't even see the tank from the side. No body lift on there.
