Alex, to confirm, the sale is until the end of this or next week?
Looks like it worn't work with that RTT, per that manufacturer. Contemplating a short trailer with RTT now, but I'd still want a 1/2 rack on top of the 4Runner.

You could easily add an awning. It's 60" long but any size awning would mount I'm sure.

Thanks Alex. The vendor of that RTT I shared earlier spent some looking at this rack and concluded that it won't work. His last email:
Hi Tony,
The side rails (guards) in the attached photo need to be removed in order to not only squeeze the mounting bracket underneath the bars but also for an installer to get his hands and wrench tools through that space to screw the bracket parts to the bottom rails of the Skycamp.
The bars of Gobi racks, for instance, have a low height and are almost touching the car roof which makes it impossible to mount a Skycamp on top of it. This is my second concern with the Antero half racks. I'm not sure if they provide enough height/space between the car roof and bars. The picture of the Yakima crossbars I sent you offer the right amount of height between the roof and crossbars for an installer to work underneath the Skycamp when attaching the brackets to the bottom rails. I hope I was able to explain the issue to you better this time.
Alex, I'm still thinking of getting your rack. I'm pretty certain that I now want a short utility camping trailer with rack, for a RTT, one better suited for that RTT...

The iKamper skycamp mounts the same as any other roof top tent.
Here is a pic I received from a friend with an iKamper skycamp on his homemade rack (hence the wood lol) that is very similar to this one. This is the same way that other roof top tents will mount to this Rocky Mountain Rack.
TLDR = This rack will be fine your tent

Jim, thanks for chiming-in, with an actual example involving a Skycamp too.
TBH, I was a bit shocked when I was told that it would not work. I reached-out to them to inquire if the surface area of the Antero might be problematic (too much overhang possibly)... At nearly 80" long for the Skycamp, even with the extended Antero, we're talking about 30".
I can see the concern without having enough space under the rack to fasten it. Some wood slats, acting as spacers should do the trick, I would think...
Regardless, I'm pretty sure I'll want to go the small utility trailer route for our camping adventures. When I'm out venturing alone, I'll be just fine with the space afforded within and on top of the 4Runner, and maybe even under.
I hope your buddy likes the Skycamp. If there is a thread that I failed to find, kindly direct me. Thanks again Jim.

If you do plan to run the SkyCamp on the rack, the full length would be the way to go. It would be a perfect fit. One thing people have done for ease of access is to mount the tent to the crossbars and then mount the crossbars into the rack with it already mounted to the vehicle. Works well and keeps you from having to juggle around tools in tight places.

Just ordered the Antero Ext!
Family of four, a small utility trailer will be used for camping, and that will support the RTT of choice. Still leaning towards the Skycamp...
For my solo adventures (no family and trailer), this half rack will be perfect. Alex, about 25 to 30 pounds for the Antero with extension?

Yep, the 25-30 range is our current estimate. We will know the exact on Friday when we ship the first ones out. Your rack will soon follow. Gald to have you in the RMR Family!

As I shared over PM a while back, with the factory cross members removed, leaving just the rails, your Antero should make for about a 15 pound weight gain over stock. Sweet.
Glad to be in the RMR family. I imagine I was the first or only one to pester you for half rack, so thanks for listening! I believe you can say that you are currently the only provider of an aluminum half rack for the 3rd gen.

Got my rack last week!
Used my Tacoma to help partially remove my RTT so I could remove the old Thule towers/bars and install the Rocky Mtn Antero. Drove several hundred miles this last weekend to race moto and slept in the tent. Rack did well
