OK, this might be a silly question, but I can't bring myself to pull the trigger on a set of FrontRunner Quick Release RTT mounts for this setup till I ask it. Does this not reduce the amount of surface contact the RTT has with the rack, thereby limiting the amount of weight distribution by at least a little bit? I have a Matterhorn and it seems like this would cause the RTT to not be resting on as many crossbars. Am I missing something?

I have a Matterhorn. According to the website it is rated for 200 lbs dynamic and 600 lbs static. What's the largest tent anyone has put on these things? I have Tepui Autana 4 (6'x8') that weighs around 170-180 lbs. Strictly based on load ratings for the 3rd gen 4runner and the Matterhorn - does anyone see an issue with putting that big of a tent up there?

Just installed the @SherpaEquipmentCo Matterhorn roof rack. Modified by Tuan at integrated metalworks to clear the hilux surf 185 rear mirror spoiler. Quality is impressive. This thing is solid. Can easily shake the entire car by pushing the roof rack. Time to get this thing loaded up!

I also wanted to announce some major news for Sherpa that we have been working on the last 6 months.

We have been growing so fast thanks to all of our amazing customers and with that growth, we needed more space. We moved less than a year ago to a 4,800 Square foot shop to accommodate growth and keep up with production. With current demand, we filled that space in months. Having been pressed thin for almost a year, we are happy to announce we are moving into our new home. We are moving Sherpa into 27,000 square feet with big plans to crank up production, drop lead times, increase quality and continue to provide the industry-leading rack system for your vehicles and much much more.

This building was built in the 60's so there is work to be done. The move also won't be happening overnight. We will be moving in stages throughout July and August to minimize any impacts on production and shipping times. Our goal is to not have it affect any of our customers. It's a lot to wish for but we are doing everything in our power to make that happen. That being said, once the move is done this will increase the capabilities of our team immensely and allow for our team to grow. All of these improvements among other fun stuff to come will mean a much better customer experience for you all!

Thanks for being a part of the Sherpa Family! Excited to share more as we can!

Cool beans - all over th@t sh1t Good luck with the expansion!

I was just trying to negotiate with a guy who bought a 2001 for $26,000 on BaT and wanted an original rack, not the Matterhorn V.1 it came with!!! Went nowhere - another guy weaseled in, but I'm gonna get a Sherpa one way or another.

Here's the BaT link: No Reserve: 42k-Mile 2001 Toyota 4Runner for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $26,250 on June 19, 2021 (Lot #49,921) | Bring a Trailer

Low miles, but oddly, no rear emblems. None of the commenters mentioned that red flag on the "no accidents" rig........kinda sus, but i refrained from bringing it up. Caveat Emptor.

Thanks again to everyone at Sherpa for doing this giveaway! Brooke, and anyone else I spoke to there, was awesome. The rack was a breeze to install. The quality of the parts is top notch. No noticeable wind noise at all. And it looks great (sorry, the red white and blue has since been removed) Super impressed with it so far.
Not a RTT guy, but it's made carrying firewood, camping gear, and my canoe very easy; tons of tie down points.
Once I get new wheels and tires, I'll be looking for more goodies to mount to this thing

I just saw one of the Sherpa racks out in the wild (well, a brewery parking lot) last night and it renewed my interest. Looks very good in person!
