LiquidFlame's 2002 S/C'd Sport Edition Build Thread

Hello everyone-

Thought I'd take a few minutes and introduce myself and my car. My names Cody, and I picked up my 2002 Thundercloud Sport Edition 4Runner with 184k on it in May. I had been looking for the right one for about 3 months, trying to be patient. Eventually after looking at many bad cars, this one popped up in Long Beach and I jumped on it. Paid $6600 for it with the S/C. Had the steps/roof rack/subs in it already as well.
The only real problem with the car is the rust. Its lived in a few different states in its life, spending a lot of time in Colorado, Indiana, and Tennessee. Most of it is surface rust that I can get off, but we all know how appearances can be. Its had some not-so-great paint touch ups on the bumpers and fenders, and the roof has been repainted (almost professionally, I can see the tape lines...)
Im getting ready to move to Arizona for school, so progress will be slow until I can get situated over there, but I'm happy with where the car is right now. Hopefully my impatience can be kept at bay for at least a little while

Yesterday I installed the Tundra 5100s and OME 880 coils up front. My suspension was factory original, which meant 15 years old... I was coming back from Arizona and my suspension would bottom out and my tires would scrape. So I had to bite the bullet and get new parts. Im too poor to afford all four corners, so I installed the 5100s at the lowest setting until I can get a matching rear setup. I also had a broken sway bar link, which obviously caused most of my problems. But I wasnt about to return the shocks and coils so ... Bought the Autozone special end links at $22 a pop until I can get the Addco sway bars/links.
Ride is much much much better. Its stiff, but I like it that way. Ride height changed about 3/4" each side, but I'm sure most of that is from the old coils being crapped out. Sits at about 35.5" to the fender currently.

Made the move to Arizona today, so if anyones around Tempe and wants to get a beer or something let me know! I don't know anyone here haha.

So I average 14 mpg thanks to my lead foot, mostly city driving. When I drove to AZ from Cali a few weeks ago, I averaged 17 mpg with cruise control at 80. Today I had cruise between 72-74 (weighed down with all my stuff and a cargo carrier mind you) and averaged 20.5 mpg! Not new information haha but its crazy to see a big difference with only a few hundred rpm difference. Now maybe I can train my foot to stop being so damn heavy

Will do!

So my AC has gotten warmer over the last few weeks, and bought a can of A/C Pro from Autozone. I went to recharge it, but the gauge bounces between 70-90 which is in the red zone. AC button was on and full blast, the fact that it was bouncing between two different pressures makes me think the compressor was kicking on. Im currently doing more research because theres a thousand threads on this, but does anyone have any insight? Im thinking a blockage in the line, but will probably end up taking it to someone to get it checked out.
