Sway Bar Link?

So i just took my 4runner in to get winterized and our family mechanic told me that I had a Sway Bar link that had broken. He said that I didnt have to get it fixed right now. What are some of the symptoms that one is broken and how long should i go without getting it fixed.

Also, what can cause this to break?

you can see it yourself, just take a look.

the symptoms might be increased body roll, but chances are one link wouldnt cause much of that

did he say front or rear?

you can let that go as long as you want, but if you are concerned, then it isnt that expensive.

you will see the swaybar.

crouch down and look behind the tires, it is a bar that runs the width of the truck. you will see it disconnected.

just slide underneath the truck...you should see a little vertial rod snapped in 2 with bushings top and bottom.

Along the same lines?
Any serious symptoms of the drivers rear sway bar mount (on the axle) being disconnected. Will it hurt the other mount or end link? I was pulling everything apart when I was installing the LC Coils and shocks today and found the bottom bolt to be broken off. Just removed the entire thing so it didnt snap or stress the other bolt.

The front sway bar links are super expensive to replace, considering that they're two six inch pieces of metal. My mechanic and I couldn't find them anywhere other than the dealer and they charged upwards of $90 a piece. My mechanic told me he felt bad charging me that much because he knows most other car companies only charge about $10/per. I posted on here several months ago asking for advice on where to find cheaper parts, but nobody replied with any solutions.

You can drive for as long as you want without them, but when you do get them replaced, you'll notice a HUGE difference in the truck's stability when cornering/turning.

You can get a real good luck at where they go by removing the front wheel. You'll see two parallel bars whose ends line up that look like they should be connected together by something. That something is your missing link.

Go to the wabfab link posted in the last post.

Here is what your endlink probably looks like right now:

Here is what it looks like after the wabfab endlink install:

I'd recommend these over the flimsy Toyota part any day of the week. These are STOUT! Plus, they're cheaper. Fast shipping, too.
