Question Tachometer Problem/Loss of Power

The other day, my wife and I were leaving to head into town when my RPM gauge started going crazy. It would shoot up to 5/6000 and back down when any pressure was placed on the pedal. However, the motor wouldn't rev and had very little power and acted very sluggish. After that it wouldn't start and seemed like the battery was dead. Today I pulled the battery and went to Autozone. The battery was tested and was good. Put the battery back in a few minutes ago and it started right up! Drove it a few miles and it seems fine. I've left it running now for about thirty minutes with all the electrical accessories running without issue. Anyone have an idea what happened???

Maybe battery terminals were loose? If it happens again (won't start), test the battery's voltage first, s/b 12.7 at least.

Update: It happened again this morning, except when I would give it gas the radio and electronics would cut out. I haven't been able to check the codes yet though.

The gauge cluster shares a fuse with the tail lights IIRC

Sounds like you may have an electrical issue shorting a few circuits together?
