front end wobble/shimmy!
i'm at a loss here. everything is new and tight, and recently had the tires road force balanced. between 70-80 the front end wheels start wobbling a lot. at this point i don't have a clue as to what it could be.

90% of the time, it's the wheel/tire combo. No matter how much you get them balanced, re-balanced, roadforce balanced, alignments, etc..etc. If you know someone who has a (different) set/combo that fits on your rig, do a swap to see if the wobble still persists.
Do you have wheel spacers? Are the hubcentric?

Swap the tires front to back, see if that helps. My guess would be balance is out, i know you said you had it done, but i had my 02 done 3 times in 4 days until they got it right, alot of guys just can't balance tires worth a crap.

When you say front end, mean steering wheel, seat, chassis? And everything new and tight like control arms, ps rack, driveshafts. I replaced the rack and drive shaft on the Tacoma and it's pretty smooth. You get shimmy when braking?

steering wheel shimmies and i can feel it all over. everything is new and tight. i have a little pedal pulsation but that has nothing to do with this issue.

Man I'd start looking into the main drive shaft. If it were mine id disconnect the front drive shaft and take it for a spin just to rule it out. Suppose the u joints are good on the main drive shaft

U joints would get rid of vibration from the driveshaft (turns MUCH faster than the wheels, so comes out as vibration, not a shimmy).
What size and type of tire? I think most guys on here will keep coming back to suggesting it is the tires. You may need to try multiple shops to find one that will get it right.

Did they actually rotate the tire on the rim to fix the road force? Or switch the tires to the best fitting rim per the road force machine recommendation? Just because the tires were balanced on a road force machine, doesn't mean the tech balanced them properly.
When did the problem start? Did you get new tires and it started or have you had the tires for a while? Have you had an alignment? Alignment specs usually don't cause a shimmy, but if the toe is out and the tires are fighting the road, you can get some funny symptoms. Also, if the tires have damage due to funky wear patterns, that could be your issue as well and the balancer wouldn't really be able to pick that up.
Good luck. Shakes and vibrations piss me off too. I hope you can get it pinned down.

tires are 265/70/17. i don't know how the tech did them regarding road force. i have had the tires since march. that problem will have to wait as the transmission went out today. perhaps that was the issue with vibrations. will find out when i get a new one installed.
