Would a 2000 Limited 3.4L wiring diagram be the same?? Are they year specific? Am trying to check out a possibly dead ecm

They will have similarities, but 99-00 have different wiring since there are differences in sensors (mainly the newer models have more). The colors will not be a perfect match, and in some case might be switched entirely.

Peel back the wire loom/shielding, one shared wire is a ground, the other is the power. It's the same color all the way to the ECU and they are on the same plug, all in a row.

Thank you @spartacus @Pedrojr80 @gamefreakgc ..... the back of the ecm of my 96 has 4 slots later models have 5 I actually found the diagram I need and again thank y’all soooo much it’s been hard to find it and I i hope it fixes my mysterious misfire

He means 4 connectors vs 5 connectors, older ECU years only have 4 on the back of the ECU, newer years have 5.

You got that backwards. The shared wire is power, the individual wires are pulsed ground...
