Trouble programming new remote key – suggestions?

I recently bought a remote key for my 2000 T4R. I bought the correct model, and I memorized the programming instructions.

The problem is that I can't get into programming mode in the first place. When I go through the 5 cycles (1 cycle is a lock and unlock) of the driver door lock rocker, after 2 cycles, the driver door stops locking/unlocking. I've continued with the instructions, but it still doesn't work.

I can explain it, but it's easier to see my video for the problem:

Thanks for your suggestions

I had the exact same issue. You can get it to work by 'helping' the lock solenoid on each lock/unlock. I pushed down/pulled up on the plastic lock thingie in time with me cycling the lock switch. It may take a few tries to get the timing down, but this definitely worked for me. It was suggested on another thread that I found when I had the issue.

Thanks. I'll try it out later today

By the way, I will never stop loving the millennium silver paint. Cool to see you've got one too!
