Parking Brake Cable Stuck?

Anyone ever have any problems with their parking brake? When I bought it, the lever was stuck, since purchasing I have replaced the bell crank components which were seized, and yesterday I took apart the center armrest to try the get at it from the handle side. Well, it's still stuck. So I'm guessing it's seized somewhere on the axle side where it comes out of the housing? But thought I'd ask around and see if anyone has had any remedy.

I just bought my 98 SR5 4x4 and it has the same issue. Did you ever find a solution?

check the ebrake assy (level, springs, shoes) at the rear wheels, this is where they commonly get stuck

Still stuck. It's finally starting to thaw out here in the frigid north. Hopefully I'll get to the underside today after work. I'm guessing its the cable though. Gotta love rust :/

If you replaced both ebrake bellcrank assemblies on the back side of the rear backing plates and cable still doesn't move it's got to be seized inside the cable housing.

Mine was freezing up in cold weather where the cable comes out of the housing on the axle end. The rubber boot had degraded to donuts and moisture was getting in. Replaced 4 1/2 years ago and all good since.
Starting post for pics n stuff 1369- https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f200...1/index69.html

It's up to you to get the right part number, the one I used is for 96-98, it's a different one for 99-02
