Rolling_Thunder is on a distinguished road
Year: 1998 SR5

Tire Size: 265/75/r16

Gear Ratio if you know it: 4.10

2WD or 4WD: 4wd

Modifications that affect MPG: Originally a 4x2 auto - swapped to 4x4 and a 5-speed. Added coil shims front, 99 tall springs rear. went from the 235 tires to the 265/75/16. Everything else stock.

Current highway fuel economy: Just drove from Washington DC down to FL and clear across to Santa Monica, CA -- I averaged 21.7mpg while being loaded down with about 600lbs of cargo

Automatic or manual transmission: Manual (R-151F)

4 cyl or 6 cyl: 6 (5VZ-FE)

Year: 1998
Tires: 315/75/17 Cooper stt pros
Gear ratio: 5.29
Things affecting mpg: supercharger with 2.2 pulley, full armor, roof rack, arb snorkel, 2.5" lift, tons of spare parts, 6k foot elevation.

MPG: 12-14.

I don't expect much. It's a 20 year old truck that only got 16 to 18 stock. Gas is cheap

Gear Ratio if you know it: 4.10
2WD or 4WD: 4WD
Modifications that affect MPG: None! Supercharger's don't affect MPG's during highway driving.
Current highway fuel economy: On 91 octane, 19.85 MPG's is the best I've seen. On 93 octane, 20.96 MPG's. Allows for more timing advance while cruisin'. http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/4ru...0715/fuelchart
Automatic or manual transmission: Auto...
4 cyl or 6 cyl: Who would want a 4 cyl?

This is definitely something I miss about the 3rd gen now that I sold it for an 08. MPG is amazing for a 4x4.

I'll play again.

Year: 1998 4WD Auto-slush-slowness
Tire size: 265/70/R16's stock size
Gear ratio: 4:10
Mods: Here we go: Supercharger with underdrive pulley, 3" intake, 3" exhaust, oversized injectors, piggyback with custom tune, go-fast parts.
Highway mpg: Best was 21.0 MPG in Oregon. On CA gas my best tank was 20.1 MPG recently, this is not a gas guzzler even with doubling the crank HP to around 370HP. City mileage has dropped though to near 14.

What’s the gear ratio code on your door sticker? I didn’t think they made 3.73 ratio for auto 4wd

EDIT: said 3.90 meant 3.73. Oops

You sir are correct. It's probably 3.909. I copied someone elses post for the format and pasted the wrong ratio. I'll look at the door sticker to confirm later. Updated my post.
