SRQ / True North Fabrications DIY Front Bumper Kit

I’m not sure it would, in this angle it seems like it would work:

Although it would be close, and if you actually did hit something it might cause it to smash the grill, thus defeating the purpose. I might try to tack it up and see if it makes sense on a test fit.

Ahh the age old debate of aesthetics vs function.

Question for those of you who have the bumper mounted - can you access the lights from the rear/bottom when the bumper is mounted up? Or do I need to have the lights fully mounted before mounting the bumper?

Hmm yeah it looks like it might work based on the picture angle. It’d be more of a grille guard like an ARB bumper then, instead of a stinger. It comes down to preference for this.

Well I went ahead and did it! Made a slight compromise and put it on the edge angled slightly outward.

Took me way too long to get the angles on the cuts in a good enough place where I could weld them...still had to fill in some gaps, but I’ve been doing stuff like this long enough that I have some practice at that.

Also made some angled reinforcement pieces out some leftover pipe that just happens to be the same size. They’re not exactly perfectly aligned because the angle is really challenging with the slight rotation. But I really love the way it looks, adds an extra degree of badass ness to the bumper.

I’m keeping them tacked on for now until I can test for the bumper because it’s going to be a super tight fit and I might need to adjust them.

I think those are the Baja squadron pros. And no it doesn’t come with the turn signals.

Rigid makes an SAE/DOT d-series light, but I don't think they are available in yellow/amber. The cutoff and beam pattern is very good - just remember that there are brightness limits for SAE/DOT lights.

I don’t have any links for the turn signals. In fact I bought the wrong ones so I need to go back and find the right grommet. Northern tool should have them in their trailer section. I’m going with the PIAA 510 ion yellow fog lights. I’m like 95% sure that they are SAE DOT rated, I just can’t remember right off the top of my head. Part number 05161.

I bought Baja squadron sports for mine and they are only 3.5” wide. They’re not a nice tight fit, the ones in that pic look bigger.

A few Questions...

1. How much do these weigh?

2. When will you be ready for the body lift version?
2.1 Can you design the bumper to be compatible with and without a body lift?

3. Will there ever be an Aluminium version?
(Sugg-Question: If you do ever make an Aluminium version can you make the winch plate out of steel and bolt on?)

When I met the guy in person he said one was coming but I didn’t ask him when. I’d guess end of the year or more.
