Top plate question

Wheelers offers the 700lbs spring on the Tundra 6112 but they have to assemble it.
Will the Tundra top plate work for our 3gen 4runners? Or will if have to be disassembled and our plate added?

You have to use the 4Runner top plate as the Tundra top plate won't fit.

Thanks, I’ll contact them and ask if that is possible or I’ll just add the extra items and do it myself.
Appreciate the quick reply.
BTW- I’m also running a Hilux Surf SSR-G

The difference is about an inch wheel travel from compressed to extended between the two
Does Bilstein publish the compressed and extended lengths somewhere, or are these numbers from you directly measuring?

Thanks

Those numbers were gathered from a couple different offroad retail sites so I'm assuming it's information available to authorized retail sellers.

I love the 6112s, but I plan to switch to Tundra 6112s as they are one inch longer and my SPC UCAs allow for that travel( though it will be limit strapped)

I need to get with @rickashay to buy his.

I'm trying to figure out if 6112s can adjust to the same height as my old bilsteins, total lift height right now is unknown. Currently have SPC uppers, no BL, steel front bumper and winch, 891s and steel bumper/carrier out back.
In theory that's around 3" according to what 891s are rated for?

The thing is I bought it with 305s that didn't rub (1.5" wheel spacers), currently on 285s and just want to use my old wheels and tires!
Anybody know if the 6112 are a match for these ancient billys?

Setting on level garage floor my 6112's from bottom mounting bolt center to tophat mount measure 18.750" 2nd perch groove,
tried 3rd was higher than rear 890's. estimating 3rd perch setting had 19.250" give or take. Limited flair to hub center 22.5".
Have AOR plate bumper synthetic rope 9500 winch, 125# hanging off rear.

Are you also running 285/75/16s? I'm saving the 305 MTRs for some offroad focused trips. Clearance in the front has been perfect with the wheel spacers and OEM 16x7 trd wheels.

I measured 22.5 front and 23.5 rear to my limited flares, but I admit it didn't feel all that "precise". Very similar setup to your truck. Steel front bumper and winch/synthetic, steel rear bumper and full size on the carrier in the back with 891 coils. So it sounds like I need tundra 6112s, possibly with 600lb springs though, cheers.

Edit: too bad the tundra ones are all sold out, FML

I tweaked on my Tundra 6112's for 1st time due to settling scrubbing every now n then.
Perch 3-4 to 5-6 too much preload rode worse too stiff. Back to 3-4.
3-4 perch added 3/8" tophat spacer gave me front rake shooting for level. Fix would be LC 8 wrap springs in rear.
Limit straps definitely needed jacked up front wheels at full droop would bind CV's.
Kept tophat spacer dropped to 2-3 perch I got to level enough lift no scrubbing I'm getting the better ride that
I was after from less preload along with lift I'm feeling more love for em atm.

The tundras set up properly (lower perches with spacer on top hat) seem like they could ride quite nice with the bumpers/winch setup. The 4runner 6112s on paper will just be able to clear 33s maxed out on a stock weight truck and will sacrifice your ride quality, maybe I'm wrong? Very close to pre ordering the tundra 6112s for this June.

Hit 200 mi on this setup today City to farm roads before and after I'm liking it more n more.
Before the ride @ 3-4 I could feel stiff suspension and 10 ply tires @ 38 psi.
Going with less preload got ride more supple road compliant like stock, all I feel now are the hard tires.

If I want more lift down the road I'll go back to 3-4 with tophat spacer know what the ride will be
and amount of lift, that worth knowing aye.
