The carpet is all fitted, and while it wasn't difficult, it WAS time consuming. Lots of cutting, testing, re-cutting, testing, etc. My advice is to go slow since once you cut it, there is no going back! I'm really impressed with the quality of this kit however and would totally recommend it.
Rear seats in, the seat backs came from a junkyard as my old ones were completely trashed.
@ SlvrSupraSub
staying busy cleaning the new center console that we found in a junkyard. We still need the brackets so if you have any for sale, please let me know! You can see the donor front seat behind her which sacrificed it's bottom foam to be recovered.
Oops... how did that get in there????
Next, started tackling the dirty stuff. I got new upper and lower control arm bushings, upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, and steering rack bushings to install. The upper arms are out, and the lowers are about to come out, but I stopped before pulling them to go to the hockey game. Hurricanes lost.
Also planning on doing this when I finish up with the suspension.
While it's apart I may just go ahead and put a lift on it. Still have no idea what I want to do but leaning towards the Sonoran Steel 1.2 kit. Any input????
I have decided on some wheels which are being funded by some weekend sales of old Tacoma parts (wheels/tires and headlights from my 3rd Gen).
I'm pretty sure I'm going with SCS F5's in gunmetal which should look pretty cool on my white Runner, and def give it a more aggressive stance.
Oh, I also took off the brush guard. This is such a quality piece! I was very impressed but it was time for it to go to change things up. No pics yet as it's up on jack stands and I think everyone knows what a 4Runner looks like from the front.

I have three 3rd gens in the household (97, 01, 02), so try buying everything in threes. The last 30 days saw 3 sets of ball joints, 3 radiators and 3 thermostats and 1 timing belt. Luckily only the '97 needs valve cover gaskets next.

Awesome. My first love is cars & bikes, then trucks. I had a MK III Turbo BPU back in the day. Heavy, not very fast, but sounded good and a nice runner. Had a 1989 MR2 SC as well. Both super red. Love the 2JZ powered stuff.
Cheers,
Justin

Completely accidental woman!
Yes I know how much you enjoyed our romantic Saturday in the junkyard... just don't get too accustomed to it. I don't want you getting all spoiled on me.

Still chipping away at getting her all up tp date.
I finally got the upper and lower control arms out as I've been traveling quite a bit and haven't had much time to spend in the garage. They will be getting new OEM bushings pressed in by a buddy of mine who is a master mechanic at Lexus and has access to all the fancy Toyota SST's.
I was really tempted to try the bottle jack technique but didn't want to risk damaging them.
Empty!
I also replaced the original 1998 plug wires and did plugs and PCV valve while I was in there. She definitely seems to run smoother with the new ignition parts.
Last but certainly not least is a set of front seat bottom replacement leather covers. The color match is perfect and the quality is really really high. I'm very impressed.
@ SlvrSupraSub
will be responsible for taking care of the new seat covers.
Out with the old
In with the new
I may do the seat backs too in the future, but for now I need that money for other stuff!

While you've got the front end apart you might want to look into the Tundra Brake Upgrade. Get everything all knocked out at once. Looking good though, neat to see an original owner try and bring everything back to new!

I already did that, I forgot to mention that - but I did the 199 Tundra upgrade a few years ago. I got tired of warping rotors and am really happy with how it's performed.
