I wonder how far LEDs have come in 4 years.

I have the pins to do this; might just bite the bullet and order everything else.

Underhood LEDs are very useful. I did this a year or 2 ago and ended up eliminating the pin switch in favor of another ground location and an under-hood push-button switch. My pin switch was coming loose and causing grounding issues and I wanted a more basic on/off action. Can't go wrong with a well-lit engine bay!

I did this 6 months ago after reading this post. I used a pin switch like Jerod but also added a 2-way switch. Opening my hood at the gas station at night to check my oil was awesome, like magic with the Spiker Engineering hood struts. I got rid of the pin switch last month after the pin developed a light coating of rust and stopped working. The 2-way works great and is all I really need but one of these days I'll coat another pin switch with something and reinstall.
