Bought to hit 300K
My rig is on the cusp of hitting 300K miles! Everytime I crank this baby up and drive her, I am pleased. I have NEVER owned a better or more reliable vehicle in my life. Of course, I have pampered and babied her with lots of PM and perhaps I have gone overboard but at the end of the day, I am not in a position to take on a new car payment for a vehicle that is more computer-driven than the space shuttle.
Has anyone on here reached the 400K+ mile mark with the original engine and transmission? The only reason I ask is that mine has the original engine and transmission....

@ StreetCreeper
comes to mind, there are others I remember over the years.
How many miles do you average a year BD?
BTW my cousin is enjoying the yearly can of LM MOS2 used in his 2005 Ford Exploder....

I posted a link to another thread where people post their odometer mileage.

Mines almost at 294k also on unopened original engine/trans.
I am in a position to buy new but why?
I figure every month the old runner keeps going trouble free puts $700-800 in my pockets between vehicle and insurance, woo-hoo !!

Not to mention if that brand spankin new 5th gen gets a dent in the parking lot, you can't sleep at night until its fixed.
Someone keyed my 3rd gen, while I wished upon them a horrible death (whoever it was), I got over it rather quickly considering I've neglected most of the paint over the 21 year old life of my 97.
Hell, I have 2 toddlers in the house under the age of 3. Up-keeping perfect looking paint on my truck is a task I'd rather not add to the list time-wise.

Haha it's funny how it's only ok if WE to the damage.
My upholstery is horrible (original leather:bacon). Yet I had to restrain myself from getting mad at my wife a few months back for accidentally scratching the rear seat. I was all , but then I looked down at the foam poking up through the bacon flaps on the front seats and I quickly got some perspective.
