Mouse in my rig (Got him out)

I loaned a friend some tools and he brought them back in a box he kept in his shed. A day or so later, saw where a mouse had been gnawing on my weather techs. Left the doors open one day and thought he was gone.....

Cranked up my AC and turned the fan on high and it sounded like a jet engine. I suspected he crawled up through the floor heater vent on the passenger side so I took out the blower motor and there he was - dead as a doornail. He had quite ride the last few minutes of his miserable little life!

Took the opportunity to clean the blower fan fins and reinstalled.

They will also climb down into that fan from the outside. The fresh air intake is right above that fan, under the passenger side windshield wiper. Easy access for them.

I transported a mouse and nest across state lines before discovered it and cleaned it out.

You mean Provincial lines?

I parked my Leaf electric car at my mom's property for a couple months with a tarp over it. When I came back I saw a rats nest starting in the "engine" bay. Bastards, I caught that in time, who knows how much that woulda cost to fix when they knaw through some important electrical line.

If you are concerned about rats chewing up the wires or plastic while you store the vehicle for a while, I have heard of putting cayenne pepper with water and spray lightly over the concerned areas.
Those rat heads don't like spicy foods

Nope. We drove through the US to Mexico one winter, then again as far as Arizona the next.

The lesson is learned then: don't loan out tools to anyone.
