Tundra 6112?
I'm currently piecing together my suspension, I've decided to run 4th Gen Icon 2.0s paired with Superflex springs in the rear. Up front I am conflicted, I'm tempted to splurge for a King setup but the Bilstein 6112 kit has caught my eye. The 3rd gen 6112 only nets a maximum lift of 2.3 inches, I'm looking for 3 inches. Has anyone used the 6112 Bilstein offers for the first gen tundra? Seems like it would be a viable option as many run the 5100s.
Setup in Question:

What about using the 4Runner 6112's and a small top plate spacer?
3" is pretty near the top of the suspension travel and may not be ideal for getting flex offroad, especially with the stiffer Tundra 6112 springs.

I know I am biased, but why would someone run the 6112 setup instead of the Tundra 5100 w/ TRD coils? The TRD coils are progressive rate while the 6112 coil pics look like linear rate

Tundra 6112?
4Runner 6112s on 8 and 9 perch
LC 7wraps rear
33s
Spoke with MRT in Vegas about very same thing...more stiffer ride they say. My setup is great on crap bumpy roads at speed and off-road high speed dirt tracks
Not too shabby crawling

You’d run the newer 6112s because the piston and oil capacity is much larger than the older 5100

I've installed the Tundra 6112's on my 2000 ltd with the full Shrockworks suite of iron and a winch .
Set at #3 slot right and #4 left . Settled out at 2 3/8 " which was just where I wanted it.
I think they are perfect for my needs. Handles the extra weight well . Combined with the OME 891's and tokico rear set the ride is plush, I really expected a harsher ride .
It handles rough dirt road conditions well .
I think it's a good value for the money but if I was going to pound the truck on dirt
roads at higher speed I'd go with a more spendy coil over with adjustable compression
and rebound .

I'm running 6112s on the 8 and 9 pech with 890 rear coils in the rear. While I have not measured the truck seems to sit about level. I wonder sometimes if 2.3" is a bit of an underestimate. I love the ride as it sits and probably wouldn't want these any stiffer without additional weight up front

I have gone through several different lift setups. I have the Tundra Bilstein 6112s on my 4runner. I really like them. The ride is VERY nearly as good as my buddies Tahoe with 2.5 Kings with bypasses.
I will say, this wouldn't be a good setup without all the weight. The coils that come on the Tundra 6112s are 650# springs, too stiff for even my truck. I swapped to 600# coils and its perfect.
Here's the thread I made with all the info you could need: Tundra 6112 Bilstein On 3rd Gen. Info & Install
If you just want more lift, well, I would recommend you re-consider. There is a reason a company that does as much testing as Bilstein does only offers a 2.3" lift. When you get up to 3", you have lost too much down travel for a good ride in my experience. This doesn't mean you can't lift it 3", you will just be sacrificing ride quality.

Your thread was super helpful, it's pretty much the only thread I've seen pertaining to the Tundra 6112. It sounds like I'll be better off either sticking with the 4runner 6112, or going for a rebuildable 2.5 coilover such as Kings due to the down travel/ride quality reasoning you listed. Thanks for the input!

What spring was that? do you have a model number for the 600lb spring rate?
