Missing bolt on my rear end!
I like my mechanic. He's got gray hair. he's been around. Yet every time I have something done, and I'm paying full price, he misses something. They did an oil change once and rounded all the bolt on the rock guards... has no one heard of a torque wrench? They put on a tranny cooler with a remote filter and they didn't tighten the filter enough and it leaked... I tightened it... better looser than too tight... I get it. OK. Anyway.
They put on Tall 99's, bilsteins, and AirSprings.
I drove away... actually for about 500 miles, get to Colorado, get on a washboard road and noticed a horrible noise then looked under there and the 12mm BOLT holding the lateral sway bar to the axle was F..ing gone. OK, Ok, I put one in. fine. it' not a huge safety issue.. I guess... we lived.
So now I went under there to do a full safety inspection... check all the bolts... looks good except for this hanger near the pumpkin on the driver side. It looks like something went there... but I can't tell what. The emergency and other brake lines seem fine....
What went there?
Thanks for any help.

Not sure what went there if anything at all BUT IMO you've given this "mechanic" way more chances than he deserves. Sounds like a total hack to me and I'd count my blessings he hasn't killed me yet. Time to move on, maybe start doing your own work since it seems you have the basics down.

This - probably fine if your e-brake is working well.

It's a bracket that holds both the parking brake cable and the hardline for the rear breaks. He didn't loose it he relocated it, It's in the photo you posted. It's just to the right of the red arrow for "Air spring".

Oh, F...ing great. He probably broke the line forcing in the 99s and then replaced it with who knows what. I better get under there and check the play.
Thanks guys

Looking at the steel line in your picture, it looks OEM to me. Maybe some years hold the cable and line and some just hold the cable?
