Spent the previous weekend installing the cb radio.
-Cobra 19 DX IV
-firestik premium 18’ coax
-firestik 4’ antenna
-custom made mount(I wouldn’t build another one, just buy
@MStudt
antenna mount, it’s cleaner and you don’t have to do all the measuring and cutting/bending.
Nice work on the install. I know how much time can go into such a small fab project like the antenna mount, mine took a long time to get all the angles right since I mounted it above the tail light where there’s weird angles. It looks like you have room to add a backup or dust light with all those dimple dies too. Did you tune the antenna? That’s key to making it work right and not burning up your radio.

Yeah, first thing i did is go out to a massive open field with no power lines or hills/trees nearby and tune it. 1.1 SWR Channel 1 and 1.4 SWR on channel 40, couldn't get it any better than that.

I really appreciate that, there are plenty of much better customized rigs than mine, but I do what I can!

2 years ago I knew very little about all of this, I buy tools when I do a project I would need them for, I figure the amount I save by not paying someone to do the repair I can use a portion for on tools. Most of it just takes time and patience, some of it takes blood and sweat.
So I got 1st gen supercharger, cleaned it up, painted it black and installed it onto my rig. Cause Moar POWA
And since the ECU doesnt really help much with AFRs in closed loop, with some help from
@Black798
i was able to install the MAPECU3 and load a tune, now my AFRs are good under load before closed loop.
Then came the real goods,
@eimkeith
finally finished the bumper design and I got the 1st prototype - literally the one off his own truck. Felt special and whatnot.
Immediately went to put it to the test at the Rubicon.
Blew up my steering rack.
Bent my skid so terrible i had to weld on a new skid mount plate.
After I blew up my steering rack at the Rubicon, I wanted to make sure everything else was in decent shape, so I went to my buddies shop, CAtunedOffroad and put it on a lift and inspected everything. No leaks anywhere and I was happy.
Also snagged a rear ARB locked 4.88 geared REAR pumpkin for future use. Going to sell my elocked axle to my buddy and go AIR selectable.
Good looking rig man. Just read through your build. I thought I found my Konigs for a good deal at $200 but damn.
How do you like those Milestar Patagonia’s? I’m due for tires soon and have been thinking about grabbing a pair of those.
I like em, especially if you can find em for $146 a piece for 315s like mine.
I don't love em as they do have some road noise cause muds.
They don't do too well on wet dirt or wet rock. As in they do worse than my all terrain buddies on all terrains. On the other hand they do very well on dry rock and whatnot.
