Undercarriage

I was puting a coat of paint on the hitch the other day, and while i was down there I realized that im starting to get a little rust. Is there something i can spray on the underside of my runner to protect it from further corrosion? Or should I just slap some Rustoleum on the trouble spots?
Thanks

I would look at something like Rustoleum on there to kill the rust and then some sort of undercoating.

I've seen people use POR products (Paint Over Rust) with good results. My dad and I used it on the frame of a 1951 Ford Pickup we're restoring and the end result was good! It's pretty messy to use, but should last forever. The price is pretty good too.

+1 for the POR products!! Best stuff out there for what you're talking about, IMO. W/ that said though, if you don't plan on keeping the vehicle, simply hit your trouble spots w/ some of Rustoleum's "hammered" finish spray paints. Pretty durable stuff that I've had great results w/.

I actually just got it about a month ago, so I do plan on keeping it for quite a long while. Thanks for all the tips though!

Krylon has a new spray spaint for this very thing. Has extra zinc in it or something.

Cheap and easy...get some old used motor oil and wipe down the frame. The chemicals in the oil will prevent rust from spreading.
