Suspension links, as in...? Rear lower and upper control arms? If that's what you meant, at some point I may consider replacing the bushings on these, and depending on how they look, may get new arms. Really nothing else was bad except the part of the frame I patched and armored, just typical surface rust!

Gotta love the Teq decals. Couldn't help myself.
Here's a pic of the phone mount installed.
Works great so far, still lots of vent clearance.

Ebay reverse lights came in to replace the stock 921 bulbs. Wow, these are bright. Before, my backup camera was a bit grainy and hard to see at night-- you can put two and two together to imagine what it is like now. Very pleased, for $10. As of now, the only lights that are stock incandescent are the blinkers and third brake, simply because in all locations I'd need a load resistor and I am pretty satisfied where I am at for lighting on the road.
Offroad, that's a different story. I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Starting to think one of my falkens might be a little too far out of whack. Ever since the mount and balance, I have had a wee vibration and 'hop' feel at slow speeds, and I think I can pinpoint the tire it's most prominent on. Is it bad? No, but highway driving gives me this nagging feeling it's out of round. Sucks, because I really like these Wildpeaks so far! Traction, stability, looks, price... All there.
We'll see what my local tire guys say. I already have a few hundred miles on each tire, so return is probably out of the question- I may have to buy another and use this as a spare.

Yessir they were. Takes place of the stock 921 bulb. See below for the link to where I got them. Note that there are LOTS of different styles available--I went with these because of some recommendations I saw when reading the taco forum.

Here are some better output pics of those lights. For reference, the bush is about 30ft away...
The camera is definitely well lit now!
Loving the UV blue dash.

Wired in the solid Sound Ordnance B-8PTD Compact Powered Sub under the seat. Coming from the other runner, the sound quality is bad, and this is definitely an improvement. I'll likely throw new front and rear speakers in to round out the mids. But for now, it's a lot better! Hardest part was taking out the rusty seat bolts...
I wired in the bass level control knob to the factory cigarette lighter location - don't smoke and don't ever plan to.
Hit a solid number on the Odo today!

Let this be a lesson for those who purchase a vehicle that was previously owned in Iowa...
So I figured I'd check the blower fan, alright? After pulling the plastic sill and kick plate to reach the blower motor...
I found a nice selection of corn kernels!
Cleaned er up and went on my way. Felt good to get that squared away - very fast and easy thing to check on a new vehicle purchase.

Just picked up a ScanGauge II of ebay for $80 - will be installing this week! Be nice to have some numbers to monitor.
Also realized that my front driver speaker and tweeter are pretty much garbage. I wondered why my audio sounded so shoddy... Guess it's time to upgrade. Polk Audio DB6501 Components on their way! Install hopefully this week.
Quick question- general consensus shows I probably should run new wiring to 14g? Especially since I am running the S/O Powered Sub...

So I started my speaker install tonight! Polk Audio Db6501 Components... Shiny.
Started by removing the door panel and stock speakers (both tweeters are toast)...
Everything was going smooth up to this point, started to install the woofer...
AND...
Then got totally ROCKED by a really bad storm. Sheboygan County of SE Wisconsin -- reports of tornados touching down nearby, over 60mph gusts at my house, trees uprooted as far as the eye can see... Local town made the news for carnage. Yeesh.
Still needing to go into work tomorrow (if the roads aren't flooded in the morning), I went back out to the shop and lit up my workspace to mount the tweeter and crossover box and run wires.
Got the one side back together on limited light and no phone battery, so no pic of installed speakers . Didn't have the time or light to do the other side unfortunately.
Power is still out but if things are looking better tomorrow I need to get the other side in! Even with one side in it is noticeably better audio quality.

I'm really digging this idea. Since I have never smoked a cigarette in my life and don't intend to start I really want to do this.. I was looking around eBay for a similar size Bass knob and couldn't really find the same one you had. It fits really nicely in that space. Do you mind sharing the link from your purchase?
wicked build so far btw,,,
