sub'd for 4runner pron. Can't wait to see how this all turns out. Told
@4Running Daily
I'd be more than glad to help you guys out in the pits or wrenching once you're back in California.
So a little update from my end. This truck has a restored title. So it was salvage at one point before this recent front end collision with a Jeep and 35" spare tire. So I'm slowly discovering all the damage and trying to fix all of it.
Cut that out, hooked up our new battery, and started her up Untitled by Connor Rhoades, on Flickr

So the first start was rough. We have a massive intake leak, but have a Volant air intake arriving Monday. Fan was destroyed, so a new one was ordered. Swap on my old fan clutch. Probably have to replace the fan clutch bracket as it did take almost all of the impact.
Do air bumpstops really give you that much of an advantage that they need to limit them? What am I missing here? I suppose they would allow you to beat on the truck more in general.

The basis behind the 4600 class is to be a basic "stock" class. Since these trucks didn't come with air-bumps from the factory, they can't be used. I have air-bumps and bypasses on my DD and it made for a huge difference over the stock setup. Instead of traveling into bump stop at full speed you have 2" of damping slowing the truck down as it reaches full bump. Having air-bumps would be a huge advantage over a stock setup in whoops and high-speed areas.
Next update:
Fan clutch pulley bracket was bent. Ordered a new one. Timing Belt is trashed. Ordered a new one. Power steering pump works great, got a new one. Tomorrow the AC compressor gets pulled if anyone wants it.

Why not change over to a York air compressor and switch it out with the factory ac unit? Or is that not allowed under the rules? I’d love to see someone fab up a York compressor and have a supply tank and use it for their lockers in one of these rigs. Maybe one day I’ll see if it’s possible if you guys don’t.

Just not really necessary. Possible. But not necessary. I prefer the ARB compressor and their incredible customer service.
