Bilstein 6112 & OME906/Bilstein 5100

So after lots of research trying to find the lift that fit my needs I settled on the Bilstein 6122 & OME 906/Bilstein 5100. This gives me a 2” lift and will support the weight of my armor and camping equipment. I use the vehicle to camp in the not so well traveled areas and don’t do any hard core wheeling. I kept my airbags in the back for when I am heavily loaded. If I find that they are not needed I may take them out. Pics are a before & after. I am running 265/75r16 tires. I still don’t have the front bumper installed so the front end will come down a little once that’s installed.

Nice!

What settings did you go for on the front?

I'm piecing together that same setup to refresh my stock suspension. A little maintenance and upkeep tho is slowing my progress.

i'm at 9/8 i believe so 2.3 lift in the front reason being is i figure the spring will lower a bit under the weight of the bumper once i get it on.

please upload pics with the bumper when its on i'm curious to see if it lowers it or not

I'm at 8/7 right now. The front is about 1/4" higher than the rear. I'm looking for about 1/4"-1/2" rake in the end. Once it all settles I may have to make adjustments. The good thing is that the adjustment ability is there if needed.

Hey there, looking at 6112s and 5160s. Slightly different than your set up but wondering how you're liking the set up? On road/off road feel?

Not seeing too much 3rd gen feedback on this since the 6112s haven't been out super long.

Hey I installed OME 2906 rear springs with Bilstein 5160s in the rear. It gave me 2"s of lift but settled about 1/4" after 2 days. Then I installed Bilstein 6112's in the front with the 600lb springs. I wanted about 2" of lift so according to their chart I use the 8th circlip setting for the driver side and the 7th cirlclip setting for the passenger. I gained 3 inches of lift and now my front sits 1/2 inch higher than the rear. I hope it settles at least a 1/2 inch to level. I'm just confused how I got 3 inches of lift. It claims the max lift is 2.3". I guess I might have to re-do it or add a a bumper and winch.

Are these a huge improvement on pavement compared to OME 881 paired with 4runner Bilstein 5100's? Debating between the two set-ups. I'd run the 6112's for the full 2.3" lift. And I'm pretty sure I'll be going with OME 890's + 4th gen Bilstein 5100s for the rear. Thanks in advance.

It's pretty likely that your front springs had sagged causing your front end to be lower than stock configuration.

Bilstein 6112's have a much larger piston similar to the 2.5" coilovers which has greater dampening performance compared to 5100's

Same setup minus the 906’s. I had them on for about a week and it looked too socal brodozer for me. I replaced with 890’s and it was much better. May even throw on some trim packers. I love the ride.

My front was at 20" center of hub to top of fender before lift and after it was at 23". That was on circlip setting 8/7 which is suppose to produce 1.97", I lowered each side down two notches to 6/5 and that actually gave me 2.25" of lift which I'm happy with.

After reading about quite a few people having problems like this I'm almost convinced that Bilstein based the lift heights off a 99 tall which would have been around 21" hub to fender measurement.
