Engine worth $200 core?

So I bought a 100k replacement engine from a local company that offers a good warranty. I’m fairly positive that I have a coolant leak in cylinder 6 in my 363k motor.

My question is, is my motor worth the $200 core or should I just hang on to it for random parts?

Thanks!

Find out what must go with the "core". If it's just the block and heads, take everything else off and keep the extras for spare parts.

Engine parts make poor replacements. The only sensor worth saving is the MAF in my opinion, the rest go bad with age.

I sold a busted engine out of a 4Runner for $250, so yeah that's about right if the engine is toast.

So I just called the company and apparently I only need to return the block and heads... So I figure I'll just keep the coils and whenever else easily unbolts from the motor and throw them in a box and send back the rest and take my $200....

That's what I would do.

I saved a bunch of random stuff (fuel rails, injectors, coils etc etc) from my blown engine.

In fact, I still have the stupid thing in my garage. I have a few more things to part out on my donor truck than it's all going to the scrap yard.

Strip it down those spare used parts are great for diagnoses work.... But if u ever want to practice or explore rebuilding a engine a loss of 200 wouldn't be to bad of a gig, considering u could end up rebuilding a engine and gain a spare or sell for some $$$
