For my wonderful and supporting customers that have had a chance totry out my bump stops, post up some reviews!!!

I got a pair of these bump stops to compare with the Wheelers Super Bumps that I’ve been running for the last couple years. I’ve overall been pretty impressed by the Super Bumps, but since they aren’t designed for our vehicles (made for 2nd gen Tacoma’s), there was obvious room for improvement. Well I think @Plastics guy nailed it on these!

So going from stock bumps to these will be a HUGE improvement. Instead of instantly bottoming out on the hard stock bump stops, giving you a harsh bottom out. These bumps are taller and softer giving a nice progressive feel when you hit your bump stops. This will make hitting larger bumps much smoother and give you more confidence offroad.

What I like about these over the Super Bumps is that you aren’t almost riding on them at ride height. These give you a little extra room for wheel travel before they engage. Another thing I like about these is that they are firmer, so they don’t bottom out near as easily. The Super Bumps are very soft so I was still bottoming out quite often on the bigger hits. Whereas with Plastics Guy’s bumps, I have yet to feel like I’ve completely bottomed out, which is great because I’ve hit some decent stuff (some mild jumps and whoops) and it still felt very controlled.

One thing that takes some getting used to is on the slow speed dips and drop offs, you can actually feel the bumps engage, where the Super Bumps were so tall and soft that you didn’t actually notice them make contact. Pretty nice, but the trade off is that they are too tall and soft to give a good progressive feel at the bump zone of your suspension cycle. You don’t notice them engage on harder hit, just the slow speed dips n stuff.

The quality is great. There is definitely some thought that has gone into these that you can see right away. From the tilted design for a proper contact angle, to the little notch to help you easily align it in the proper direction.

I took some comparison measurements from my Super Bumps and got the following:

Bump Stop Height
Super Bumps - 2.875”
Plastics Guy - Tapered 1.875” to 2”

Hardware Height
Super Bumps - .875”
Plastics Guy - .875”

You can see where the contact marks were for the stock bump stops, and the Super Bumps. You can even see the metal on metal contact that happened when the bump stop hardware made contact with strike pad. That was because the Super Bumps were too soft, especially at the end of the bump zone.





So overall I am very impressed with the quality, and feel of these bump stops. I definitely recommend these to everyone. Our stock bumps are just too short and firm to handle what we do with our vehicles. Do yourself and your rig a favor and pick up a set of these things. For the cost, it’s a no brainer!

Your front and rear bumps ran the Dusy/Ershim and not only survived but performed perfectly. What more of an endorsement do you need.

I've got some garage time to get the rig back on the road but once that's done I'll chime in some more.

So I was one of the original "beta testers" for these bumpstops and have been running them for over 3 months with several thousand miles on them.

The rears there isnt much to say, I have had zero issues with them. They replaced my stock bumpstops that had been extended 2 inches and they made a huge difference. With the stock ones if I ever bottomed the suspension out it was like hitting a rock. Since I installed these I have not felt that hard-hitting a rock feeling.

Now the fronts there is a lot more to say. The originals I ran with my old bilstein coilovers and managed to split the base in half. I personally worked with plastics guy to develop a solution for that which led to the current V2 design. Great guy to work with and very knowledgeable. Since I have installed the V2 I have upgraded to king coilovers and the pairing is straight magic. I can throw damn near anything at the truck at any speed and it just eats it up. It's awesome, no two ways about. That being said I have encountered two minor issues if you can call them that:

1: The CV shaft cannot be removed with the bumpstop installed. This may be due to my alignment or something, but when pulling the CV there is just physically not enough room to squees past the 2.5-inch body coilover and bumpstop. Not a big deal, just requires one more bolt to be removed to swap the CV.

2: Depending on the type of hit, there is a very specific speed and amount of drop that I need to make it happen, but I am able to compress the suspension enough that the hardware inside the bumpstop contacts the frame. This could be remedied with a button style mounting bolt that is lower profile but the number of times it happens really isn't enough to warrant me going to the effort of doing it.

Other than those 2 issues I have nothing but good things to say. I have jumped the truck, mostly unintentionally, at least 3 times and have had zero failures and never once felt like I exceeded the limits of the bumpstops.

Bottom line, if you dont have these or dont think you need them, you do. Buy them!

I've been running them for 3 months and the perform excellent. Very well thought and executed addition to our rigs, couldn't agree more with the first poster. The kits are complete with loctite even.plastics guy is great to work with and his r&d trips are a blast.

Toyota Bump Stops

The bump stops are actually a bit taller than your OEM bump stop but much softer so it will compress. My bump stops will not interfere with your amount of up travel in any way.

The front diff bushings. How hard are they to replace ? Do you have to remove the whole diff or how is it ?

Its fairly easy. Its definitely easier than replacing LCA bushings for sure. The diff stays in place, no need to pull it out.

- the old bushings get torched/burned out.

- clean up any debris on the bracket and paint them up so you look good on the trail.

- Press in new bushings in and reinstall on the truck

As an alternative - I also sell pre-loaded brackets. You receive nice clean brackets with the new bushings pre-installed. once you install your brackets you send your old brackets with bad bushings back to me with the provided return shipping label and packaging.

It's not your alignment. The Kings have a larger coil then the billies. That means the CV won't clear with the bump stop in place. Like you said, it's easy enough to remove. It's even the same 14mm that you already have on your impact to remove the 4 lower ball joint bolts.

I found this out on the Dusy. Me and @rkntoy where changing my first busted CV at camp. When we tried to pull the CV out it wouldn't clear the Kings. I was ready to pull the coilover when he suggested pulling the bump first. Smart gut that one. lol

It must be my beer selection.
