Talking newbie........along with newbie questions

just purchased a 1998 Limited 4runner 4x4 (doesn't have the locker though...) and I'm definately excited about the future of it. I'm not new to the Yoter scene, my dad has a '73 FJ40 (he's the original owner!) that he and I just finished restoring, he also has a 2002 SR5 4runner, my mom has a Rav4, and I have a 1990 4x4 pickup in addition to this 4runner. So I guess you could say we're a Toy family!

Enough about that...I've got some mods that I would like to do ASAP! I know there are other threads on here and on yotatech that are relevant to my following questions but I don't know if they apply to the Limited 3rd Gens as well. Here goes: 1st -> i wanna slap some larger tires on it and from what i've read, 265/75/16's are pretty much ideal without installing a lift...correct? 2nd -> I assume OME lifts are the best bang for the buck, but has anyone installed Downey's lifts? 3rd -> Has anyone installed Downey's Manual Hub Conversion? If so, does it really improve gas mileage a noticeable amount? 4th -> Are there any problematic areas that I should be on the watch for with this model 4runner (only has 80,000 miles)?

Sorry this post is so damn long! Any answers would be great! Thanks, and happy wheelin!

I'll answer a couple

1) Limiteds are teh same and it apllies to the mods

2) The only common issue as long as the timing belt and water pump are replaced is th axle seals on th rear seem to go oout around 100k but not really a big deal just make sure you use OEM seals when you cross that bridge.

3) I personally don't see a big deal in going to manual hubs;problems with the auto hubs don't seem common.

4) 265/75 is the biggest tire you can fit under the stock suspension.

No issues with that size on any of the Runners even the shorter '01+ Runners.
