Rotopax Not Shipping to CA

Waited until the holidays to save a bit of money on Rotopax to throw on my savage rear bumper. Well here we are, and Rotopax has a disclaimer on their site saying they WILL NOT ship to California due to increased regulations.
The other option is their FuelPax line which they will ship. However these are not stackable, and I was hoping to be able to put more than one 4 gallon back there.

What do?

Yup. Gotta get an out of state friend on board. If you go this route, be sure not to claim the details of the package in shipping. Maybe somebody here is willing to bend the law for you. I would, but I'm also in CA.

Good luck

Why don’t those pussies just say they are not for gasoline use in CA? Just for decoration lol. That’s one way to manage their regulation. Just like the non carb stuff that says off road use only. But don’t bend over that easy. Sheesh. Maybe they already got a slap on the wrist, I still think they are pussies.

All of the race cans I've used all my life have gone that route, they are for any liquid BUT fuel.
SHEESH.

But they will ship to Cali.

4 Wheel Parts price matched Amazon when I bought a 4 gallon Rotopax fuel can. Give them a call and see if they’ll do the same for this sale pricing so you can avoid shipping.

external mounted fuel cans are subjected to many different rules/laws from different levels of government. Some aftermarket manufacturers no longer sell external gas tanks. They do sell external motor oil containers.

For anyone in NorCal looking for Rotopax, I have a 2 gallon fuel tank and a 2 gallon water tank that I'm looking to get rid of, $80 for the set if you're in the Sac area. Both completely unused.

It isn't even an issue of carrying fuel. it's the Nanny state saying the spouts pollute.

Two companies I'm familiar with had problems with the carrying fuel part. They had problems complying with gasoline externally mounted on the vehicle. There were problems with crash testing. Problems with having federal regulations stamped on the outside vs having a sticker on the outside. If the container was red it was subject to different rules vs any other color. Red is most likely associated with fuel. Would the Red containers have special child resistant caps? Other color containers did not need child resistant caps. They didn't make it to the vapor cap stage.

One company made a change in labeling to non potable water storage. The other company stopped production of Red container. However, the Grey/Black was made of the same plastic as Red. The Grey/Black was considered safe for motor oil. No advertisement for Gasoline.

These were Federal Regulation problems. Unknown how many problems they found on the State/local level.

I don't always carry my cans on the truck, but when I do they are the NATO cans. just preference, And any fuel carried on or in trailers is still the plastic race cans, Always out of the sun. They store nice, and pour fast and clean, My state can keep the leaky A$$ EPA compliant nightmares.
