Rd 2000 keyfob programming

I recently bought a 97 limited for a new toy. It came with one factory key and one aftermarket and no keyfobs. I bought a couple off amazon and can’t get them programmed. I found out it’s probably because I was trying to program for a different vehicle with door locks locked and unlocked multiple times in sequence with ignition on and off. After looking around and finding they came with rs3000 security and mine has rd 2000 I’m not sure what to do. Any input?

I'd also like to know... I can't get mine to program either. mine might be different? here is the box under the drivers seat on mine.

mine looks like this
1997 Sketchy SleepyDad build

and this is the info I found so far
1997 Sketchy SleepyDad build

what is really weird about my 97 is no glass break sensor. so still really not sure if my truck ever had keyless or not?

Or can I swipe the box under the seat and the fobs from my apprentices wrecked 4Runner and transplant to mine?

When I bought my 2000 4runner it only came with 1 key.. that was it. So I bought two more from the dealership at 7$ each and looked online for a fob.

Bought two from amazon and it was very janky and felt cheap in my hands. Took 20 clicks before it would open or close. Took 3-4 tries to program it too. So I returned it because it was just too unreliable.

Someone on the forum recommended North Coast Keyless and couldn't be happier. Bought one to try out and it took one time to get it programmed and all the buttons work. The only problem is it is always out of stock. I recommend signing up for a notification when they are in stock and jump on it right away!

Well I just got an oem Toyota fob from eBay for 15$ (per @infamousRNR ’s recommendation) and I just programmed it last night in 5 minutes. Worked flawlessly, even rolls the back window down. You must get the fob with the fcc Id HYQ12BBX. I can post the programming instructions as well if needed. Helpful hint if your door locks get weak after a few lock/unlocks then it’s better to just use your key in the door to do the unlock/lock cycles.

If you dont want a fob that looks used then just grab a case for the oem fob from AJT, looks awesome but a little pricey.

For reference I have a 2000 t4r

Key Fob Receiver Issues

I have a 2000 SR5. I've been told by the dealer that my "Door Receiver" for the Key Fob is faulty and of course they don't sell the part. I have two factory Fobs that used to work now they dont. I've had numerous techs point me in the wrong direction for where this "Receiver" actually is located on my vehicle. I've located the buzzer under the hood, the Alarm Module under the dash but no receiver to be found. I've replaced the module in the lift hatch because I was told the ECU is contained within the relay module - Nope. Any help on where this module is located would be awesome. I'm referring to part 89741-24050 which I believe is the culprit.
