I’m surprised how many good condition 3rd gen 4runners there are in Cambodia. In addition there are twice as many 1st gen Tacoma double cabs and extended cabs. Interestingly these are/were US vehicles one time purchased in the US and shipped in a container.
They are cleaned up a little and marked up 150-200%.
Very very few Hilux and Hilux Surf though.
Thailand is the opposite.

I heard a south east Asian country is buying toyota 4x4 like crazy from Japan. I think it is much cheaper to buy from the US (salvage vehicles) and get it fixed with cheap labor there. Hilux is brand new or used from Japan so they don't go after those due to price.
