Arrived today... Took three days to get it from Hong Kong to my place in Michigan.

My 4runner is not ready for it at all...

I installed this thing a few weeks ago. The template is pretty spot on. Everything went great with the exception of fitting the rubber tubing onto the snorkel. I guess there's always something to be expected with quality control on a "knock'off" version of things. The rubber tubing ID was quite smaller than the male plastic end on the snorkel. It took me and a friend, a heat gun, some dawn, and lots of swearing to finally get it stretched over it. Others have had better experience with boiling the end of the tubing to get it a little more malleable. Some have been lucky and didn't have any issues whatsoever.

Tips

A: I highly suggest checking the fitment of these two pieces. If it's really tight then you have two options. 1) Connect the snorkel and the tubing off the vehicle. Then feed it through. You will likely have to do some pounding on some body metal that's in this area to get the room required. 2) Take the fender off, mount the snorkel, and attach the tubing. Still need to do some pounding on the metal behind the fender.

B: You cannot get to the furthest top mounting location without taking the fender off. However, bolting this down here is not crucial.

I've also been working with a guy on TacomaWorld in making a nice epoxy domed "TRD" sticker to use in place of the goofy one they send. He will likely produce more if there is interest.

────────────────────

If you click on the picture in my signature it will take you to my instagram where I have the installation made into a story. Fun times! lol

I was totally sold on this, but amazon and eBay have been out of stock. The wife insists on having a snorkel, and this one is a great value. I hope they get back in stock soon.

They come and go often. Usually the price fluctuates.

I just checked daily when I was trying to get one. Only took a couple days to get back in stock.

I got one off of amazon this morning, price went up to 150. They were in stock yesterday morning, but when I went to buy it after dinner, it was out of stock. When I saw them available this morning I bought it quick. Shipping is supposed to take a month to a month and a half, it must be on the slow boat over here. I have plenty of projects on the meantime.

I honestly don't know, I just got lucky. I married up for sure. She also insisted we needed a fridge, so we got that. She also says we need black wheels, and black emblems. I told her we can get new wheels when these tires wear out, and to look up on you-tube how to plasti-dip the emblems, so she can do it herself. I'm going to surprise her with the snorkel. How romantic of me.
