You can use the portion of Tim/Sean's valve cover gasket replacement video that pertains to the intake removal.

It really isn't hard at all, shouldn't take you more than a couple hours total to swap the harness over. If you get stumped, we'll help.

The transmission portion of the harness is the hardest, just due to access and dirt in the connectors. Make sure you get the ADD plug down below the driver side exhaust manifold.
I would suggest pulling the harness from the inside and transmission, laying them over the engine and removing the engine. Once both engines are side by side, swapping anything necessary will be much easier.

Don't make it harder for yourself than needed, Mark hood hinges and get that off and out of the way.
2) Pull battery and Air box,Radiator all in big pieces
3) Pull air plenums upper/lower .. reuse your old ones ( pull new engines on stand ) mindfull of knock sensors etc etc
4)Remove engine harness from engine and tuck under wiper arms. Pull starter and motor mount bolts..trans bolts exhaust nuts
5) support trans at highest angle ..pull

Thanks guys, I got the manual wiring harness on the new engine. It wasn't bad at all, I just took my time and made sure I didn't miss any plugs. I also got the spark plugs on too. I actually got the engine out yesterday without breaking anything or hurting myself, and put the flywheel/pilot bearing on, pcv valve/grommet, throttle body, oil cooler hoses and rear main seal. Now I just have to wait for the new engine mounts and oil cooler O ring. Can't wait to drive my truck again!

Word of advice on the harness.. Make sure the harness is attached to all the mounting locations. If some of them are broken, just zip tie the harness out of the way of moving parts. I missed a location near my transfer case drive shaft and it ended up getting snagged somehow, yanked the harness a little, and sheared the plug that went to my front diff actuator, separating the connector (fun fix).
3.4l are so easy to swap otherwise LOL!

Update:
After pulling the timing belt cover I realized that the timing belt had probably never been changed...looked pretty bad so I changed it yesterday along with the WP, pulleys and tensioner. Now if i could just mate the engine to the dang tranny...I was wrestling it for a few hours last night but couldn't get it lined up but hopefully i'll get it today.
Also while i was extending/replacing the front diff breather, I figured out why my 4wd isn't working! I was a little depressed last time i went wheeling and realized the front wheels weren't turning.  Make sure these vacuum lines aren't touching the header or they will melt!!!

Ahh, much better. I'm wondering why I didn't replace these before. 20 year old vacuum hose is fragile.

A friend helped me and we ended up taking some ratchet straps and help level it out. It wants to tilt and the fan is looking up in the sky correct? Take one end of the ratchet and put it on the back of the manifold or something similar, then connect it to the ring at the top of lift. We used two, one on each side and was able to level off the engine enough to bolt it up. Definitely not a one person job.

Thanks, I got it in about an hour and a half yesterday by my self. i used the ratchet strap trick and i twisted the rear driveshaft a few times and it went right in.
