I hear ya. Maybe i'll make it a standard to check them every 3 months or so to ensure they are snug. They haven't been touched in 3 years until I overhauled the injectors a couple days ago and checked them because "I was there." The grommets just kept getting squished and squished with more tightening - no big deal though.

Stick to the torque recommended in the FSM, it's designed around the VC casting strength, or lack thereof
