Problem: Minimal droop on front suspension for new bumstop install

Hey all, I posted in the plasticguys bumstops thread but thought I could get a few more responses here without clogging up that thread.

I bought the Durobumps front and rear 3.5 set of bumps. The 3.5 rear set was a breeze. No problems with the install.

Then I moved to the front set. After having jacked up the 4runner, I placed the jack stands on the frame in order to get the fronts suspension droop necessary for the install. That was not the case. After removing the bumpstops on the rear of the front LCA I noticed there was only about two inches of space above the new Durobumps after they were placed on the LCA. That left me just barely enough space to squeeze in a short socket and ratchet in between the Durobumps and their respective contact points.

Long story short, I didn't get much droop on the front suspension and the install was a lot more tedious than what should have been. I watched Timmy's video and he had a ton of space in there to do the install compared to what I was working with. The install is done now but something was not right. Any input would be great if you guys have some ideas as to what I missed. Thanks.

I already answered in the other thread, but here it is again...

The OEM shocks are shorter than basically all of the aftermarket shocks that are installed by now (Including "OEM style" ones like Bilstein 4600's).

See the 4th page of this link:

You can easily get extra room by removing the swaybar endlink and the shock bottom bolt. You may need to also pry the assembly down with a pry bar to get all the room you need (the bushings might hold the knuckle up).

Sorry, no pics. I finished the install without taking any. If anyone has watched Timmy's video on this install, just imagine having only about half the space he did to do the install.

I did have the endlinks disconnected to swap out all the bushings, and that didn't net me anymore space..
