Cant find Dealer Installed Clifford Product ID

Hello, So my truck was bought new by my dad and now im the proud owner of it. The truck came with a anti-start system where you have to press the defrost button to get it to start up.

On this cold morning, the defrost button didnt want to work or the sensor of the back window was giving false reading or something, but it wasnt turning on, so i cannot start my 4runner. The only thing my dad recalls was having to do some playing with the master key (black plastic one) to reprogram the system.

Inside the 4Runner i have one big red LED light with Clifford written on it, My key fob is the usual 3 button you have from toyota. (FCC: HYQ1512Y). I know my truck has boomerang on it to track its location but thats all. Anyone has Any knoweledge what may have been installed? I tried my dealer but they dont keep informations on older vehicles.

I opened up the kick panel under the steering wheel and followed the cables of the LED, and it goes to a black box just written alarm on it.

Thank You

My advice: remove it. All of it. I bought mine with an old Clifford alarm from 1996. It was going insane.

Disconnect the battery and remove the kickpanels under the steering wheel. Look for a cheap looking box with some splices into the factory harness. Unplug and remove all splices. Cover exposed wires with tape, liquid, heat shrink whatever.

Interresting, any good product you could recommend? I like the idea of having a similar system but with remote start build into it. Its my only car and being young and having such a gem of a truck i dont want it gone.

Remote start and true safety don't go together...

A well hidden fuel pump switch will keep you from remote starting the truck.

Not like someone tried to steal it in the past, did they? These products are are quite similar, I care more about how they are installed. BestBuy is not friendly to your factory wiring.
