Most companies only sell OEM reman'd calipers. So if you order Powerstop, Calihan, NAPA, etc. they are all the same OEM Toyota calipers, very few companies have reverse engineered a caliper and made their own, I'm yet to see one for our 4Runners. Where it differs between companies is the quality of the aftermarket seals and components installed in them.

I'm going on 4 years with my Powerstop calipers with no issue.

@4Runner4Leon try re-bedding your brakes. When I installed my rotors, I went on some "spirited" drives and heated up my brakes big time. I thought I had warped them but realize that the pad material wasn't evenly distributed on the rotor, I could see it. I did another brake bedding proceduce and the wobble went away.

If that doesn't do it, just have them turned at a machine shop for cheap.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. I bedded them in per the instructions, and they were fine for a while. Just recently I noticed the chatter again. I'll try the procedure again.

Pedal Feel?

This is a little off-topic, but with the 199 upgrade does it change the pedal feel at all? I keep getting inconsistent info. If you go with the 199 and bleed your brakes properly or have a shop bleed them does the pedal travel or feel change (and is it noticeably obvious) with the 199 upgrade?

It didn't change te pedal feel for me at all... That's why I stayed away from the 231mm upgrade. My '98 brakes great now.

I just installed the 199 Centric Posi-Quiet calipers and Centric premium rotors yesterday

I've been pleased with Centric stuff on my other cars, so I expect I'll be happy with them on the 4Runner. I like the coated hub & edge on the rotors, and they've run straight. Unfortunately I broke a corroded hard brake line, so my rig is still on stands. Hopefully, get to that tomorrow. It's probably drained the master cylinder while it's been sitting, that will add to the fun.

i used those 20% off coupons that Advance Auto always has and bought the calipers/pads/rotors all from there. no issues and pretty cheap.
