Glad you both are going to be ok. Just wondering, since your friend was ejected, were you both wearing seat belts?

Thanks for sharing your story, wish you a full recovery.
Very scary, and with a full load… I really worry about accidents on and off-road when I have a loaded up truck with many things unsecured.

Wow Van, Glad to hear you're in recovery, I'm wishing you the best. I've experienced the same thing (mine wasn't quite as dramatic, but we did roll over 1.5 times down a hill). We had some cuts and abrasions and my passenger needed some stitches. This is bringing back a bunch of memories.
1) It can be replaced, I ended up getting a newer one and built it the way I wanted. It took me about 2 years to hit a trail again, but I knew if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to "climb back on that horse."
2) One of the guys that helped us, a Jeep group, said in disbelief when he saw the truck "I'd have no problems putting my wife in that!" At first we were kind of surprised, then he said he meant that he was amazed it had no roll cage and still faired OK.
3) Don't waste any energy second guessing yourself as to "what could have I done differently." A park ranger actually pulled me aside and told me that, very kindly and he had no judgement or criticisms. I was surprised, I was expecting a lecture. He said sometimes it's just just the perfect line of bad luck and variables AND sometimes, doing something differently could have resulted in more damage or injuries, which I didn't think of until he mentioned it.
FWIW, before anyone says you were going too fast or this or that.. we were at a complete stop, 0 MPH, when the rollover occurred (the earth gave way unexpectedly on the edge of a trail, after we pulled aside for a dirt biker that was flying down the trail and would have hit us). I've also been off-roading for 25 years.

Can't imagine how scary that was.
I see you're somewhat local to me. If you need a hand with anything on the new rig, whenever you may get it, and you're still recovering-give me a shout and I'd be happy to lend one.
