Glad both members made it out. Pictures looks very scary. What is scary too is being in control for one minute and, just there going along for the ride (out of control) the next.
I try not to take advantage of it but, we drive very capable and safe rigs.
Have a speedy recovery and a successful search for another rig.

Brother... I feel your pain. Last March driving to Arizona to visit my brother, I hit some black ice on a bridge and rolled my Tacoma.
I'm glad you and your friend made it and I wish you both a healthy recovery. Also a speedy and worthy replacement for your 4Runner

Good luck on your healing and dont skimp on the physical therapy, the exercises can seem useless but it helps keep blood/lymph flowing and less scar tissue build up. I have a bunch of blown discs it's no fun. And your friend should read up on TBIs, any concussion is serious business. Get lots of sleep, high quality fish oil, eggs, veggies, brain foods, keep stress low for a while. Concussion Repair Manual with Dr. Dan Engle

I've crawled through my sunroof before and it's not a pleasant experience. I can't imagine doing it 'not on my own free will'...
Thankful you are still around to tell your story! Wishing for speedy recoveries for you and your buddy!

Thank god y’all are alive, that’s a miracle. I had a buddy of mine ejected from his sun roof and he unfortunately didn’t make it.

Agree
I appreciate your openness with your experience. I can relate to you with the fear and anxiety that you guys went through during the crash. I was wrecked about 12 days ago; lost control on the highway in Chicago due to black ice and hit the median head on and then was hit in the rear a moment later. The traffic was intense and the roads were not safe and I'm very thankful that it wasn't worse. The insurance appraiser was at my house today so we'll see what they say as far as state of the vehicle and value for repair. I really hope they don't consider it total loss. I totally relate with the financial, physical, and emotional investment into our 4runners and wish you the absolute best of luck with recreating yours.

Sad ....but Thankful News
I can’t thank all of y’all enough for the kind words. I am so thankful it wasn’t worse. Every time I lift the tarp to show someone it still hits me pretty hard. To the other guys with accident experience, I’m so glad y’all made it out! It’s a scary thing for sure. We gotta be thankful Toyota made a good vehicle. Thankful for all of your comments and uplifting words!!
I loved my 4runner so much, it sucks! I had it right where I wanted it. I hint Craig’s list like a hawk but man miles don’t scare me however it’s so hard to find one that isn’t full of frame rust. I sure hope to find one that’s decent. I found a guy that has one, his dad the original owner. Exterior looks great, interior decent, rear diff housing and axle housing rusted, hole in skid plate, sway bar end link pure rust. Sucks. Gotta keep searching!!!
