Replacing drivers side door handle/lock

My driver's side door lock got punched in over the weekend.

Luckily they didn't take anything, but now I've got to fix it.

I figure I need to order a lock cylinder, and a new handle.

The problem is none of the dealers look to have a green door handle in stock still.

If I get a used door handle, is the plastic paintable?

P.S. **** thieves

Sorry to hear. Yes, you can paint a used door handle.
Look on Car-part.com. You might find a green door handle off a 4Runner being parted out.

Salvage yard would be a good place to start. Call around, or like other post said, do a web search.

I just replaced my driver side key cylinder. I'll try to find the youtube vid I followed.

What year green? 96 to 98 is different than later years. Gateway wreckers in langley has a 97 green. I think it has the doors intact. You could call them. I want to go out sometime in the next few weeks when I can get time off work and could pick it up for you. I regularly cross the border to Blaine.

Wrecker plus a locksmith to re-key/wafer it is probably your most cost effective option.

Mine is a 2000 4Runner.

I ordered one off of Ebay for $30 but it is a 1998.

I'll see how well it matches, and if it isn't close enough, then I'll either have it painted or continue searching.

1996-1998 is Evergreen pearl
1999-2002 is Imperial Jade Mica

Here's one that's being parted out. Worth a shot sending them an email to see if they still have the handle.

Please be aware the ebay door handles are very soft (rubber like flexibility!). I bought 4 for my toyota sprinter (geo prizm) and those handles can be twisted easily even before opening the door.
Find a good used door handle. Apply anti-seize grease to the two 10 mm bolts that keep the handle to the door. It will make the removal easy next time!
